As of 1pm on May 19, the AQHI for Edmonton is calculated at 10. The health message at this index for the general population is “Consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous activities outdoors if you experience symptoms such as coughing and throat irritation.” While our ride will not be strenuous, and we are still going to Bike to the Symphony today at 6pm, we recommend participants make their own assessments on whether or not to join the ride, or just go directly to the Winspear. The performance begins at 7:30pm.
We will still have secure bike parking set up which you can lock to, whether or not you’re on the ride.
Join Paths for People on an easy, friendly group ride from Old Strathcona to a special concert at the Winspear Centre with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.

Complimentary, secure, monitored bike parking is provided directly in front of the Winspear (please use a bike lock). Dedicated security personnel provided by the Winspear will monitor the bike parking for the full duration of the event.

The Ride
The ride is a short, 6 km ride at a leisurely pace. Gather in front of Sugared & Spiced (the alley of 10334 82 Ave NW, south across the street from the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market). Enjoy a snack or beverage from any of the nearby businesses, but be prepared to depart promptly at 6pm. You can also join us from the Garneau lamp (aka bicycle bottleneck) on the northwest corner of 109 St and 88 Ave at about 6:15pm, or if you’re starting downtown, join from Ezio Faraone Park at about 6:20pm. What to Expect
Bike to the Symphony is a fun, short, group ride to a performance of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) at the beautiful Winspear Centre in downtown Edmonton. The ride itself is free and open to all, and open to all on bikes, scooters, and similar, including e-bikes, electric unicycles, etc. The ESO is offering participants a special ticket price for the performance.
There is no dress code (neither for the ride nor for the performance), and the event is welcoming and casual, but many participants enjoy dressing up for the ride. Whether you’re a seasoned symphony-goer, or you can’t tell a violin from a viola, this friendly event is enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Ride Details
Please ensure your bicycle (or other mobility device) is in good, working order. The group will not have time to stop if you have a mechanical issue. As you are riding, please follow all road regulations and make independent decisions (e.g. don’t assume that if a person in front of you crosses an intersection, that it is necessarily safe for you to immediately follow). Participants are responsible for their own riding decisions.
