We’ve compiled a bunch of walking and rolling tours for Edmontonians to provide some inspiration to get outside and enjoy the end of the winter season! We’ve listed them below categorically, with a brief description of where they are in the city.
Paths for People Walking, Rolling, and Biking Tour
We have created our own walking tours based on urban planning, community engagement, and active transportation!
Downtown Active Transportation Tour
A tour around 104th Street and Jasper Avenue that celebrates and thinks critically about active transportation. This tour is supported by signage and is being run in partnership with “A Taste of Al Fresco” on March 27/28.

- Time – 30-45 minutes
- Best experienced via walking or rolling
Ritchie Coffee Tour
A tour in the Ritchie area that celebrates local coffee joints. Prepare to be caffeinated. This tour was originally hosted by board member Yasin Cetin in partnership with the Ritchie Community League in fall of 2020.
- Length – 3.5 km
- Time – 30-60 minutes (with stops)
- Best experienced via walking or rolling
Shared Streets and Re-allocated Lanes Walking Tour
A tour all around the core of Edmonton that shares some of the Greatest Hits from last summer
- Length – 12 km
- Time – 40-60 minutes
- Best experienced via cycling
- Not all parts of the route are on all-ages and abilities infrastructure
Leefield Community Engagement Tour
A tour through the Leefield neighbourhood focused on community planning, affordable housing, and neighbourhood development. This tour was originally hosted by board member Yasin Cetin in partnership with the local Constiuency Office in 2018 as part of Janes’ Walks.

Heritage Buildings and Historical Tours
- Downtown Edmonton – various walking routes along the east end of Jasper Avenue
- Strathcona – various walking routes along Whyte Avenue
- Oliver – various walking routes along the west end of Jasper Avenue
- Highlands – Heritage Homes focused tour along 111 Avenue in Highlands Neighbourhood
- Westmount – Heritage Homes focused tour along 125 Street and 126 Sttreet in the Westmount Neighbourhood
- The Commonwealth Walkway – along River Valley Road, from the Legislature to MacKinnon Ravine
Public Art Tours
- Capital Boulevard – tour along 108 Street from Alberta Legislature to the 104 Ave
- The Quarters – tour along 95 Street between Jasper Avenue and 103a Avenue
- City Centre – tour in and around Edmonton City Hall
- 104 Avenue – tour along 104 Avenue near MacEwan
